BEACHES OF CRETE » SEITAN

Seitan Limania beach, Chania, Crete
Although they seem completely isolated, Seitan Ports are located just 20 km from the center of the city of Chania. To get here you will need to head to the airport, from there you will drive to the village of Chordaki and from there to Rizoskloko where you will start to see signs to the beach. If you come across a closed door in the middle of the road, it is there to limit some shepherd’s flock and please close it again. So at some point you’ll start going down an asphalt road that seems to end up in the middle of nowhere. At the point where the road stops, the steep but passable path begins that in about 15 minutes will bring you to this little paradise on earth. You may hear the beach by various names, such as “Tou Stefanou”, “Rizoskloko” and others.

  • The Seitan Ports were known to very few people until a few years ago, when the road that ends here was built. There is no infrastructure on and around the beach, which means you have to take water and anything else you need with you, as well as collect your rubbish when you leave and leave it in the nearest bin if you drive to the village. In August and on weekends the beach gathers a lot of people for its size, which you might find annoying, so prefer to come here on a weekday in early or late summer.
